I'm going to try a winter garden this year and I hoping it's more productive than my summer garden was. I didn't have the time to give it the TLC it deserved. Sadly it didn't produce much :( I really like spaghetti squash because it is a great alternative to regular spaghetti made with wheat and it tastes good too. YUM! Shop at Burpee.com for squash for your fall/winter garden.

This week has been interesting to say the least. On Tuesday after working all day I went to the kitchen to start dinner, tried to wash my hands and there was no water coming out of the faucet. OH NO!! We were out of water/our big tank was EMPTY. That's not the worst part our water pump had ran ALL DAY. Is the pump is fried? Will some the plumbing need to be replaced? The heat from the pump running swelled the pvc pipes.
Late Tuesday night I get to break the news to my hubby, he wasn't thrilled . Wednesday heated water to wash dishes and for bathing, not fun in large amounts. Thursday hubby replaced some of the plumbing to see if that was the problem. No still need more parts, another day with out water in the house. We are using 3 to 5 gals buckets to bring water in the house to flush the toilets...lol! Another day of heating water for dishes and bathing. Friday hubby puts the other plumbing parts on the see if that fixes the problem. NOPE we fried the pump from it running all day without water...:( Not what I wanted to hear. Saturday same as several previous days, heat water for dishes and bathing. How spoiled we are for having (normally) easy access to water just turn on the faucet and the water comes out. Did I mention the closet hardware store is about 60 miles away round trip. In order to buy a new pump it's about 120 round trip. God Bless all the Pioneers that worked hard to get there water. Oh the beauty of living a rural area...I wouldn't give up living in a rural area for anything I love it so much!! We knew when we moved here that there would be inconveniences sometimes. It just takes a littler longer on some thing than others and I hoping to have running water in my house at least by Monday. Thank goodness we have RV Parks in Ash Fork for laundry and showers. Hand Sanitizer and Peroxide based cleaning wipes have come in handy too! Rural Living & Loving Life! |
