With the recent closure on I-40 it got my thinking about what would be good to keep in my car. Here's a good list from http://www.almanac.com/emergency-car-kit. I would add other dried fruits, nuts, beef jerky or other low sugar foods. A 12-volt coffee mug that plugs into the cigarette lighter would be good for warming water then you could add instant coffee, tea, hot chocolate, instant oatmeal or even instant/cup of soup. Once you decide on what food to put in your kit make sure you have utensils to use. Next add clothes or blankets to keep you warm and a cell phone to call for help. I know that there are a lot more items to add but this is a sample of what I would use. Be Prepared. This post may contain Affiliate Links.
